p-니트로페놀을 용리액에 첨가하고 THM과 PCB를 Novapak ODS관과 μ-bONDAPAK 페닐관으로 용리시켜 분리 및 분석하였다. 사용한 THM 은 CHCl3, CHBrCl2, CHBr2Cl 및 CHBr3였고, PCB는 Aroclor 1221,1242,1248, α- 및 β-BHC였다. THM과 PCB의 정지상에의 머무름과 검출감도는 시료와 정지상 또는 시료와 용리액에 첨가한 p-니트로페놀과의 상호작용에 의존되었다. THM은 1.0×10-4M p-니트로페놀을 용해시킨 메탄올-물(30:70) 용리액을 사용하여 ODS관으로, PCB는 아세트니트릴-물(50:50) 용리액을 사용하여 페닐관으로 용리시킴에 의하여 몇 가지를 분리 및 분석할 수 있었다. THM의 검출한계는 1.0×10-4g으로부터 1.0×10-6g 였고, PCB 중 Aroclor들의 검출한계는 2.0×10-6g, α-와 β-BHC는 각각 2.0×10-4g과 1.0×10-4g였다.

THMs and PCBs were separated and analysed with elution on Novapak ODS or μ-Bondapak phenyl column by an eluent containing p-nitrophenol (p-NP). THMs studied were CHCl3, CHBrCl2, CHBr2Cl, and CHBr3, and PCBs used were Aroclor 1221, 1242, 1248, α- and β-BHC. It was thought that the retention on the stationary phase and sensitivities of the samples are related to the interaction between the sample and stationary phase or p-NP. THMs were separated completely on the ODS column by elution with MeOH-water (30 : 70) containing 10×10-4 M p-NP and some of PCBs were separated on the phenyl column by elution with CH3CN-water(50 : 50) containing 10×10-4 M p-NP. Detection limits of THMs were from 10×10-4 g to 10×10-6 g. Aroclors were 2×10-6 g, and α- and β-BHC were 2×10-4 g and 10×10-4 g respectively.
