Abstract	Borohydride exchange resin (BER)-CuSO4 system readily reduces α,β-unsaturated ketones to the corresponding saturated alcohols quantitatively. This reduction tolerates many functional groups such as carbon-carbon multiple bonds, chlorides, epoxides, esters, amides and nitriles.
