Abstract
H++Mo7O246- = HMo7O245- ΔH°=1.900 kcal/mole, 2H++Mo7O246- = H2Mo7O244- ΔH°=7.500kcal/mole

The temperature effects on the equilibria between polymolybdatd anions in 1M sodium perchlorate solution has been investigated in the temperature range of 20~50℃. The polymolybdate anions formed are heptamolybdate (Mo7O246-) ions and the protonized forms of heptamolybdate ions (HLMo7O24(6-L)-). The equilibrium constants for the formation of heptamolybdate ions calculated by Sillen's method are as follow; 8H+ + 7MoO42- = Mo7O246- + 4H2O K7.8 = 2.37×1053 : 20℃ K7.8 = 4.22×1052 : 30℃ = 9.29×1051 : 40℃ = 2.37×1051 : 50℃ The enthalpy change for calculated for the above reaction is 31.51 kcal/mole. A method of calculation of the equilibrium constants for the formation of protonized heptamolybdate ions from heptamolybdate ions and hydrogen ions has been derived. The equilibrium constants calculated for the formation of protonized heptamolybdate ions are as follow; LH+ + Mo7O246- = HLMo7O24(6-L)-: L = 1 or 2 k1 = 2.31×104 k2 = 6.19×107 at 20℃ = 2.53×104 = 7.80×107 at 30℃ = 2.76×104 = 1.22×108 at 40℃ = 3.10×104 = 2.03×108 at 50℃. The enthalpy change for the following step reactions are as follow;H+ + Mo7O246- = HMo7O245-ΔH0 = 1.90 kcal/mole 2H+ + Mo7O246- = H2Mo7O244-ΔH0 = 7.50 kcal/mole
