HF의 진동적 1→0 천이과정에 회전운동이 중요한 영향을 미친다는 문제를 반고전적 삼차원방법으로 연구하였다. HF의 진동 energy의 대부분이 회전운동으로 이전되는 것을 이론적으로 상세히 계산하였다. 진동 energyrk 병진운동으로 이전한다는 종래의 이론으로는 HF의 진동적 relaxation 과정을 설명할 수 없음을 지적하였다.

The importance of rotational transitions in the vibrational deexcitation of HF(1→0) in HF+Ar collisions has been investigated by a semiclassical three-dimensional approach. Because of the inclusion of rotational transitions, this study gives vibrational transition probabilities which are very large compared to results of conventional vibration-to-translation energy transfer theories. Currently available experimental studies suggest that this effect is important and has to be included in rigorous calculations.
