A Study on the Determination of Ionic and Molecular Weight of Dissolved Substance by Dialysis Method (Ⅰ). Improvements of the Dialysis Apparatus and Its Operations

투막법에 의한 이온양 및 분자량의 결정에 관한 연구 (Ⅰ) 투석장치 및 실험방법의 개량

용해된 입자의 이온량 또는 분자량을 결정하는 방법으로서의 투막법에는 장치의 미비점과 실험방법의 개량되어야 할 점이 아직 남아 있으므로 우선 이들을 개선하여 보완하였다. 투석동에 막을 밀착시킬수 있도록 철제링을 개발하였다. 투석액과 외부액의 수준을 0.02mm의 정도로 일치조절하고 유지시킴으로써 삼투 및 여과효과를 최소한도로 억제시켰다. 두 액의 교반속도를 임의의 정도도로 변경하여 그 교반량을 일정하게 유지할 수 있도록 하였으며, 그 온도를 투석기간중 ±0.01℃의 정도로 일치유지시킬수 있도록 하였다. 투석기간중 투석액의 부피변화를 -1.62 ~ +0.92%범위로 좁혔으며, 삼투 및 여과효과와 막공의 크기와의 관계를 추구하여 최적투석시간을 구명하였다.

This paper reports the improvements of the dialysis apparatus and operations since there are some problems to be improved in the dialysis method which is applied to determine the ionic and molecular weight of dissolved particles. The hook gauge was utilized in order to control the surface level of the dialysing solution and the solvent to be equal with the precision of 0.02 mm to minimize the osmotic and filtration effects. An accurate agitation velocity for both solutions was maintained and so was the same temperature for both solutions with ±0.01℃ precision. The dialysis membrane was fixed uniformly and flatly on one end of the dialysis cylinder by using a newly developed ring. The volume change of the dialysing solution during the dialysis was reduced to the range of -1.62 ~ +0.92%. Optimum duration of dialysis was searched from the relation between the osmotic and filtration effect and the pore size of the membrane.
