On Crystallization of Hadong Kaolin Treated with Aqueous Sodium Hydroxide Solution

하동고령토의 Sodium Hydroxide 용액 처리에 의한 결정의 변화

하동 kaolin을 NaOH용액으로 처리하여 그의 결정성을 X-선 분말회절법으로 조사하였다. 각 결정 생성의 최적 처리 조건은 다음과 같다. <표> Sodium A zeolite 결정 생성을 위해 적당한 Na2O 대 SiO2의 비는 0.5∼1.5이다. 생성된 Sodium A zeolite 의 25℃, 0.2N CaCl2 용액에서의 Ca++ion 교환능은 이론값의 65%였다.

Hadong-Kaolin was treated with aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. The crystalline structure was studied by X-ray powder diffraction method. The optimum conditions for various crystal formation were as follows: Crystal Concentration Temp. reating time Halloysite 1~4 N NaOH 60℃ 0.5~4 hr Sodium A zeolite 0.5~2 N NaOH 80~100℃ 6~20 hr Hydoxysodalite > 4 N NaOH 80~100℃ > 4 hr The ratio of Na2O to SiO2 for crystallizing sodium A zeolite was 0.5-1.5. The Ca++ ion exchange capacity of produced sodium A zeolite for 0.2 N CaCl2 solution at 25℃ was amounted to 65% of theoretical value.
