Abstract
TiCl4를 가수분해하여 anatase, rutile 및 이들 구조가 혼합된 TiO2 광촉매를 제조하였다. XRD, BET, TEM, XPS 및 UV-Vis DR(Diffuse Reflectance) 측정을 통해 제조된 촉매의 물성을 확인하였다. UV-Vis DR 스펙트럼에서 rutile 및 rutile과 anatase 구조가 혼합된 TiO2는 anatase TiO2보다 광흡수 영역이 장파장으로 이동하여 가시광선을 흡수하였다. 자외선 및 가시광선 조사 하에서 물속에 녹아 있는 congo red의 광분해실험을 통해 rutile 분율에 따른 촉매활성을 평가하였다. Congo red를 광분해할 때 rutile과 anatase 구조가 혼합된 촉매가 순수한 rutile 및 anatase 촉매보다 활성이 뛰어난 것으로 나타났다. 특히 가시광선 조사 하에서 congo red를 분해할 때 rutile 분율이 촉매활성에 영향을 주는 중요한 인자로 작용하며, rutile 분율을 적절히 조절하여 촉매활성을 개선시킬 수 있었다.

The TiO2 photocatalysts in the anatase, rutile, and both phases were prepared by the hydrolysis of TiCl4. The prepared samples have been characterized by powder x-ray diffraction(XRD), BET, TEM, XPS, and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra show a slight shift to longer wavelengths and an extension of the absorption in the visible region for rutile and rutile/anatase mixtures compared to the anatase catalyst. The photoactivity of these catalysts was tested in the photocatalytic degradation of congo red diluted in water under UV and Visible irradiation. It was found that catalysts of both phases have better catalytic activity for degradation of congo red than anatase and rutile catalysts. The fraction of rutile plays a significant role in affecting its photoactivity for photodegradation of with optimum fraction can enhance photoactivity, especially under visible light irradiation.
