Abstract
A kinetic study of the hydrolysis of celluloses with different crystallinity by Endo Ⅰ and Exo Ⅱ purified from Trichoderma viride cellulase was performed. It was found that the hydrolysis of the celluloses can be described by a summation of two parallel pseudo first order reactions. From the experimental data, it is possible to calculate the fractions of easily and difficult hydrolyzable cellulose in Sigmacell 100 and associated rate constants. As the results, all of the rate constants decreased with increasing crystallinity of cellulose. From the kinetic data, it was also found that the coexistence of Endo Ⅰ and Exo Ⅱ showed a synergistic effect in the latter phase of the enzymatic hydrolysis reaction.
