Abstract	Boron trifluoride etherate on alumina catalyses the condensation of orcinol and monomethyl orcinol with cyclic allylic alcohols : in contrast to parallel reactions with boron trifluoride etherate in solution the products obtained undergo intramolecular cyclisations.
