Abstract	Irradiation of a solution of chloranil and cycloheptatriene, or 1,3-cyclohexadiene, in dichloromethane yielded unexpected photorearrangement products as the major product, while chloranil with cyclohexene gave the photorearrangement product as well as 1 : 1 adduct.
