Abstract	A one-pot conversion of tertiary thioamides to S-2-oxo thioesters is reported. Hence, tertiary thioamides were reacted with α-halo ketones or acids under solvent-free conditions to produce the corresponding oxo-thioesters in good to excellent yields.
